Lacy - homeopathic treatment success (click image for large view)

Lacy is a 2 year old Maltipoo.  She had a rough start in life and was in her 4th home by the age of 7 months.  She was only 4 lbs. Her current caregivers took her in to be spayed when she was 14 months old and discovered that her liver enzymes were extremely elevated.  Her conventional DVM canceled the surgery and started her on Milk Thistle and denosyl.

After a phone consultation we started Lacy on two homeopathic remedies; thuja to detox from previous vaccinations, and Lycopodium to help the liver function normally.  We also started her on Standard Process's Hepatotrophin PMG and Vitality Science's Canine Comfort to further support her liver and digestive tract.

Four months (March 2007) later Lacy was healthy enough to be spayed.  As of June her liver enzymes were still above the normal range, but had come down significantly from her initial exam in December 2006.

I suspect on her next chemistry panel her liver enzymes will be in the normal range.  She is now a normal 6 lb active, playful dog who enjoys life to the fullest.  Lacy had vaccine titers done this year.  Her levels showed adequate immunity. She will not be vaccinated again.

Hummingbird Rescue  (click on image for larger view)

Two hummingbirds were in their typical battle flight when they hit our patio door.  When I checked to see if they were OK, I saw a small ball of fluff on the concrete.  As I picked him up I thought his neck was broken and he was in severe shock.  I sent my husband  Todd and son Aaron for the flower essences.

I gave the hummingbird a drop of Bach Rescue Remedy and one drop each of Perelandra's dill, nasturtium, and snap pea essences.  Within a couple minutes the hummingbird perked up and felt like he was actually humming in my hand!  It was a very interesting sensation.  Then he flew off without a hint of his brush with death....and a short time later I again saw two hummingbirds fighting over the feeder.

Shakey Jake and Flower Essences

One day while I was in surgery someone stopped by with a rain soaked kitten they had just found in the ditch. They were on their way to a birthday party and asked my technician if she thought the kitten would make a good birthday present. She took one look at the sick and malnourished kitten and said "Maybe you should just leave him with us.".

Well poor Shakey looked pitiful. His back end from mid back down was weak and shaking with his every step. This was probably due to a traumatic injury. He also had a horrible respiratory infection affecting his lungs and upper airways. After being treated for several weeks the infection had resolved, but Shakey was left with a residual cough. There was no improvement in his shakey walk. I decided to take him home and let him enjoy a few beds before he died. He could run and play, but didn't have a good sense of balance with his back end. He made up for it with his from end and was a killer aim for his toys when playing kitty soccer with my son.

Shakey kept on ticking. Fourteen months later he still had the horrible cough. He sounded like a 90-year-old man that had smoked three packs of cigarettes a day since he was 12. Then I ordered a respiratory flower essence formula from Perelandra (www.perelandra-ltd.com) for my asthma. One day when I was taking my dose Shakey came into the room. So I decided to give him a dose. Three doses and two days later he stopped coughing. He relapsed a bit 2 weeks later and I repeated the three doses, given 12 hours apart and again he stopped coughing. That was over 2 years ago and he has been fine ever since. Once the cough was gone he went through a growth spurt and grew from a 5-LB cat to a 7-LB cat. He continues to be a playful happy guy and he is a joy to our family.

Molly: Conventional and Holistic Medicine Work Together

Molly first came to us 12-21-01 for an exam, vaccinations, and a heartworm test. She had shown up as a stray so we did not have any history on her. She obviously had some previous trauma to her left rear leg, possibly an old fracture.

Two years later her old injury was starting to have an effect on her. She came in on 11-17-03 for an evaluation. Molly had been out of state for the last year and had been evaluated by her local veterinarian. Unfortunately her local vet recommended euthanasia and said that surgery would likely never be a success and shouldn't even be attempted. She had some muscle wasting on her left rear leg. Radiographs showed osteoarthritis of her right hip, her left hock, and her left stifle. We started Molly on a supplement called SeaCuMax for her arthritis, and the homeopathic remedy Arnica for the muscle wasting. We recommended starting Acupuncture on Molly for her arthritis. Since I didn't know if Molly was a surgical candidate we referred her to a board certified veterinary surgeon for evaluation of her stifle.

Dr Randy Graehler found multiple problems in Molly's left stifle including an anterior cruciate ligament tear and a torn meniscus. He recommended surgery to repair the stifle.

Acupuncture was started to treat the arthritis and Dr Graehler performed surgery to repair the multiple problems in Molly's stifle. Three homeopathic remedies were given to aide healing of the stifle. Molly was also kept on pain medication through the healing process. The surgery was a great success. And Molly responded well to her 8 acupuncture treatments given over the next 4 months.

Today she lives in another state and continues to do well. She has lost some weight (which she needed to do) and she swims routinely to maintain her agility. She spends two hours a day swimming and walking. She is able to jump in and out of the car and navigate difficult terrain without apparent stress. Molly is a certified Therapy Dog with Love on a Leash Therapy Pets. She regularly travels with her guardian from VA to MS to TX and enjoys all new sights and smells. She no longer needs pain medication, but continues to take glucosamine and chondroitin for her arthritis.

Molly is a great example on how conventional and holistic medicine can work together.

Sheba and Homeopathy

Sheba is a 4 1/2 year old Bengal Kitty. Her story started when she was a year old. On Dec 6, 2001 Sheba couldn't walk, her rear legs were too weak. She was treated with an anti-inflammatory injection and rest. After 4 days she was able to walk stiffly. This had been her second episode in 4 months, although the first episode had not been as severe.

Sheba was referred to a specialist. After 4 months, 3 exams, radiographs, and blood tests Sheba was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and luxating patellas. The specialist was uncertain if her current clinical symptoms were due to the hip dysplasia and luxating patellas, or if she also had a neurological or vascular disease. He recommended a referral to a neurologist.

On July 23, 2002 Sheba came to see us for Holistic care. She was weak, lethargic, and had trouble walking and swallowing. He owner said she had good days and bad days. It was obvious that her owner was very attached to Sheba and was very concerned about her. Sheba appeared emotionally depressed.

We started Sheba on the homeopathic remedies Rhus tox and Arnica. A mixture of Perelandra Flower Essences was started to treat her depression. Sheba steadily improved over the next few weeks. Now, almost three years later, she is a normal, healthy, and active kitty.
